The CEDLA/UvA Master Latin American Studies offers you an international and research-driven program of 12 months (60 ECs). You will study social transformations in Latin America from a multidisciplinary and social-science perspective. You will design your own research plan and do fieldwork in this exciting region. The program provides critical knowledge, academic skills and in-depth understanding of the academic literature. You are trained to become an autonomous researcher and critical academic who can work in new, unknown circumstances. These competences are easily transferable to jobs outside the academia and highly valued in all kinds of work situations.

Students with a different MA degree (f. ex. Ecology, Law, Business, etc.) and good students with a BA degree in Social Sciences or humanities are also invited to apply. You are asked to complement your application with a research proposal. Upon completion, you will obtain the degree Master of Arts in Latin American Studies.
