FINABEL: European Army Interoperability Centre (A: Research internship)
Where?
Finabel promotes and facilitates the interoperability of land forces through the harmonisation of military concepts, doctrines and procedures. It produces recommendations, guidelines and research for army decision-makers according to the demands of its Member States.
Finabel convenes the leadership of its Member States’ armies in annual meetings. The organisation complements and cooperates with EU and NATO military structures.
When/For how long?
The internships can start in January, February of March 2024. The period is up to you, you can choose between a period of 3, 4, 5, 6 or 12 months.
What?
The European Army Interoperability Centre is constantly looking for talented students and graduates to join its team as trainees.The Finabel Permanent Secretariat, based in Brussels, offers non-remunerated traineeship opportunities in the research field.
Tasks include:
Work in a multicultural team to produce News Flash, Info Flash and Food for Thought papers;
Perform research tasks on specific topics independently and in team;
Take part in events in Belgium and abroad on behalf of FINABEL;
Write reports on conferences and meetings;
Write a final paper that will be published by FINABEL;
Assist in the preparation and promotion of projects, publications, webinars and events;
Assist other teams if necessary.
For whom/what qualifications are requested?
Be at least in the first year of a Master’s degree;
Be able to undertake the traineeship in person;
Show interest in FINABEL’s activities;
Have an academic background in Social Sciences, EU studies, Politics and IR, Security, Defence or related topics;
Demonstrate relevant knowledge on European policies, defence, security and related topics;
Have a working knowledge of written and spoken English (C1);
English native speaker highly desirable.
