The internship The Economic section of the Netherlands Consulate General (CG) and the Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) are offering an internship position in Atlanta. The intern will assist pre-dominantly the NFIA-colleagues in its lead generation efforts, market research and investor relations. Additionally the intern will assist the CG in its outreach and support of creating a soft landing format for Dutch businesses in the Southeast of the US.
In the context of the NFIA activities you will play an important role in the lead generation efforts, i.e. your job will be to research our territory (the Southeast), track down potential foreign investors and assist the NFIA-colleagues in the approach (via emails and with phone calls) to help set up meetings. In addition, you will make benchmark studies that compare European business locations, making use of independent databases. You will also make power point presentations with the aim to inform clients of the advantages of the Netherlands on a tailor-made basis. Furthermore, you will be tasked with updating the NFIA current investor database. Additional tasks in support of the CG include attending networking events and assisting with organizing CG and / or NFIA business events.
The candidate You are an ambitious student who is 21 years or older and who studies international business, marketing, international economics, international relations, or a comparable major, with a commercial focus and a strong drive to make things happen. You are fluent in English, in both spoken and written form. You are accustomed to working in an international environment. You are flexible, and you like to take initiative. You are conscientious in your work, but not afraid to make mistakes.
You must have the Dutch nationality and be actively enrolled as a student with a Dutch university.
Our fall internship starts at the end of August and ends January 31 (application deadline: May 1).
Our spring internship starts mid-January and ends June 30 (application deadline: October 15).
