The Government and Public Affairs team at HEINEKEN sits within the Global Corporate Affairs function which also includes Global Communications and Sustainable Development. We manage the company’s relationship with politicians, civil services and international industry bodies as well as the Company’s response to public policy issues such as alcohol abuse, international trade or advertising regulation. The global Public Affairs team is a multinational team that works on issues across HEINEKEN markets worldwide.
The Role You will work alongside the Global Corporate Affairs team in Head Office in Amsterdam, Brussels, as well as with the local operating companies and colleagues from across the business. Tasks include conducting desktop research, supporting with events, and helping deliver important projects, covering different aspects of public affairs, government relations and corporate communication. This is a great opportunity to learn first-hand about the relationship between public policy and business and work as part of a multinational team that works on global, local, and regional issues that affect our operations in 70 countries and sales in many more. Besides getting to know the company, you will meet other interns from various departments, helping you to build a network of both different and likeminded individuals.
An international perspective with the ability to work as part of a team of specialists from many different countries and cultures.
Great Dutch and English language writing skills.
Good knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.
A problem solver with an attention to detail and flexible approach.
Currently still enrolled at a Dutch University.
Available for no less than 6 months.
Your field of study is not of critical importance but knowledge in international relations, economics, and public policy would be helpful. The minimum requirements are a Bachelor Degree and a genuine interest in public policy. International experience is highly valued, as are other language skills.
